Real Estate Investment Group

University of Chicago

OUR PURPOSE

The University of Chicago Real Estate Investment Group (“UChicago RIG”) offers undergraduate students a platform to learn about real estate investing and to explore real estate opportunities in a collaborative community. We are the first and only investment club on campus focused on real estate and real asset investing. The ultimate goal of RIG is to provide educational and professional development to UChicago students with an interest in real estate from an investment, development, and community perspective.

Education

RIG’s curriculum provides a comprehensive overview of real estate markets and real estate investments. RIG’s 8 week curriculum includes topics such as development, REITs, real estate private equity transactions, and other real estate related securities markets. These topics will be taught through a weekly lecture series coupled with our lineup of guest speakers from leading firms and organizations.

Career Development

RIG offers direct interaction with leaders in the real estate industry through our Speaker Series and relationships. Our organization aims to prepare our members for their professional endeavors, as we continue to partner with leading organizations and establishing relationships with top real estate firms to expose our members to the many exciting opportunities in the industry.

Community

Our goal is to create an organization that is both diverse and collaborative. We are open to applicants from all backgrounds as we aim to establish a club which is exciting to be a part of and where members feel motivated to learn and cultivate their interest in an exciting industry. Alongside this, we plan on making many of our speaker events and conferences available to all - not only current club members.
