RIG was founded in 2020 by undergraduate students Paul Stacek, Alessandro Rubini, Ben Whittaker, Duncan Healey, Meghan Long, Nathaniel Villarina, and Sahil Modi with the goal of bringing a real estate focused curriculum and career opportunities for undergraduates to campus. At the time, Chicago Development Forum (CDF) - founded by Andrew Langford and Bruce Han - was an up-and-coming RSO also exploring areas related to real estate investment and development. We quickly realized that our respective passions for real estate markets and development were aligned, which made it sensible for us to work together in bringing real estate related career opportunities to campus while at the same time facilitating discussions on the urbanization, public policy, and social aspects of real estate.
